First Round Submissions - the context

The request for first stage submissions took the form of 17 questions that are paraphrased here as many of the published submissions make numerical reference to them.

The majority of questions were presented in groups related to particular contexts.

1	- asked for factual information about the activity of hunting.

2	- asked for evidence of economic impact
3	- asked for a description of the potential impact of a ban
4	- asked if hunting the drag or clean boot might replace hunting
Context - Agriculture and Pest Control
5	- asked for evidence of the need to control quarry species
6	- asked for hunting with "dogs" to be compared to other methods
7	- asked for a description of the consequences of a ban
8	- asked for proposals related to replacement activities
Context - Social and Cultural Life of the Countryside
9	- asked about the contribution of hunting
10	- asked for an analysis of its nationwide and local importance
Context - Management and Conservation of Wildlife
11	- asked for information related to benefits and detriments
12	- asked for conjecture related to a ban
Context - Animal Welfare
13	- asked for information related to hunting's impact
14	- asked for information related to the consequences of a ban
Context - Implementing a ban
15	- asked for proposals related to the nature of a ban and its implications
16	- asked how a ban might be "applied and enforced"
17	- asked about the implications of a ban
