INFANTS
There are three classes each of approximately 15 children. In Infant 1 (Reception) children have their
fifth birthday. They then progress through Infant 2 and 3 during the years in which they are six and
seven.
A sound basic grounding in reading, writing, mathematics and science is given. The emphasis is placed
on providing for the individual needs of each child in a happy and relaxed atmosphere so that by the
time they reach the Junior department they will already have achieved a successful standard.
100% of pupils have achieved the required standard each year since S.A.T.s testing began. A high percentage
achieve level 3, the average being level 2 at this stage.
The Infant day is from 8:55 - 3:15. Two playtimes occur, one in the morning, one after lunch.
