Technology
Although creativity and strong production values are important in yielding excellent results, we are only able to achieve this by utilising the latest equipment.
All our videos are captured on broadcast quality equipment in high definition 
thereby protecting the clients investment by prolonging the useful life of the material. Use of high definition allows images of much higher clarity and resolution to be captured.Video recorded in HDV format is transferred to an Apple MacPro where the footage is edited in the Final Cut Studio suite of applications all material is stored on hard discs and archived for future use.
Digital editing gives much greater flexibility than traditional tape-based systems, by ensuring that the original quality is maintained throughout the editing process and allowing any part of the program to be modified without loss of quality. Different versions can easily be created.Special 3D effects, graphics and captions are all created digitally and are integrated into production using a range of tools such as Boris Red, Motion, LiveType, Photoshop etc. Audio sweetening is performed in Soundtrack Pro.
If required, we have an extensive collection of library music suitable for all types
of productions, a wealth of “on-camera” and voiceover talent is also available.Finally, the completed material is transferred back to a digital tape for distribution on WEB, CD, DVD, VCD or DV, HDV and VHS tape formats.
Duplication
Cut Above has its own duplication facility for the production of VHS tapes CDs and DVDs, this ensures that the highest quality is maintained throughout the production process.
High Definition DVD
We anticipate that we will be able to create High Definition DVDs
to the Blu-ray standard before the end of the year, watch this space!
