Most of these are sites that compare the prices of goods available at a variety of web sites and / or provide consumer written product reviews. Be aware that the prices they show aren't always the cheapest you can get.

Nectar eStores
This isn't a price comparison web site. However, it's easy when using one of the sites below to go straight through and order your goods directly from your search. Remember that if you have a Nectar card, it's always worth going back to the Nectar web site and checking whether the retailer you are going to use is listed there. Froogle
To get listed on a site like Kelkoo, you have to pay for the privilege. However, retailers pay nothing to get listed on Froogle. Whilst it's not the easiest of sites to use, it does tend to reveal the best prices. USED FREQUENTLY BY US

Kelkoo
This is the site we use most often for price comparison. We've been caught out before by the odd item that is shown without VAT (and therefore artificially low). However on the whole it's a great starting point if you are looking for a bargain. Prices are usually given for one of the item plus delivery. USED FREQUENTLY BY US

DoorOne
I first heard about this site on the radio but is one I made use of extensively over Christmas. USED FREQUENTLY BY US

Haggle 4 Me
This is a different site which unfortunately doesn't seem to have taken off too well. The idea is that you find the cheapest price for the item you want to buy. You then list the item and that price on this web site. If subscribers to the site find the item cheaper, they'll tell you. If you've saved less than £20, there is no charge. If you've saved more than £20, you pay 20% to the person who gave you the cheapest price.

Idealo
Another comprehensive price comparison site, in the style of Kelkoo and DoorOne rather than Froogle. This site is popular in other European countries and has recently been made available in the UK too.

Pricewatch
Although it's got a pretty generic name, this web site is another specialising in computer hardware and software.

PriceChecker
Yet another Kelkoo style web site providing individual product price checking.

PCindex
A specialist price checking web site covering computer hardware and software.

OnlinePriceGuide
Another Kelkoo type web site offering the best prices on individual products.

MoneySupermarket
As implied by the name, this price comparison web site primarily focuses on financial services but also flights as well.

Cheap Flash
Not a retailer as such but a place that lets you identify the cheapest supplier of memory cards for digital cameras as well as other devices (such as PDAs) that take memory cards.

Money-Off
Unless most web sites like this which take a direct feed of products allowing you to compare prices of particular products, this one simply leaves you with a list of potential retailers and lets you do your own research.

DealTime
A price comparison web site similar in nature to Kelkoo.

Computer Prices
Another specialist price comparison web site, this one covering computer hardware and software.

Buy.co.uk
A bit of an unusual web site in this category, covering the best deals on gas, electricity, phones, digital TV and water as well as personal finance things such as loans, credit cards, insurance, mortgages and life assurance.

BookBrain and DVDBrain
Found in a list of price comparison web sites in a market research survey, these two specialist price comparison web sites cover books and DVDs.

DooYou
A site that includes both consumer reviews and price comparisons for the same item.

PriceRunner
This is a site I first heard about on the Radio 4 program You And Yours ! This site is different for several reasons. Firstly, it includes both traditional high street retailers as well as Internet based companies. Secondly, you can actually get price comparisons sent direct to your mobile telephone by sending the service a text message.

Ciao
Again, like DooYou this site provides price comparisons as a backup to consumer reviews of products. Debbie has found this site to be particularly unhelpful.
