Software
This section isn't about where you can buy software.  Instead,  it covers software freely available over the Internet which we've found very useful.

Webshots
Anyone who sees our computer admires our wallpaper and often notices the fact that it keeps changing.  How do we do this ?  Webshots.  This is a free piece of software which allows you to show photographs on your computer as wallpaper and / or as a screensaver.  The web site associated with the software has thousands of photographs which can be freely downloaded.  Additionally,  you can add your own pictures into the system.
DigiGuide
This software is basically an electronic TV guide.  However you can also tell it what your favourite programmes are or what type of programs you like to watch and it will make suggestions.  It works with all TV channels - terrestrial and digital.

evolt
This is a bit of a strange link unless you are a real "techie" !  This site contains an archive of every web browser published.  If you want to download the original version of Internet Explorer - before it was bought by Microsoft - or the first version of Netscape Navigator this is the place to go.  Also contains a huge selection of wierd and wonderful web browsers as well.

Dimension 4
For all the high technology in a computer,  the clock inside is no different to a normal digital watch.  It still has a little battery and will gain or lose time like any watch.  Dimension 4 allows you to automatically adjust the clock of your computer based on special Internet clocks that are available.  It can be set up to work invisibly in the background and is something we've used for years.
BBC Weather Screensaver
If we've had our computer on but haven't been using it,  you might have seen our screensaver kick in.  We use a screensaver downloaded from the BBC web site.  You configure the screensaver for the town where you live.  It is then able to give you a five day forecast.  The information is downloaded from the Internet and the software can be set for many towns around the world.  If we are going away,  we often use this to check the weather at our destination.

The Dingbat Pages
I was looking around for a Christmas symbols font and came across this selection of "Dingbat" fonts,  a huge selection of symbols that you can use in all applications.
