number 988.
I really like this figure as he represents,
to me, the archetypal German Officer. Hooray!! At last
Dragon have given us a proper leather belt with metal buckle.
Alright its not a real 'claw' but it is better than the
plastic offering. Well done Dragon for listening,
Anyway, to the figure; The cap is the now
standard 'crusher' cap as issued to previous figures but with
the Wehrmacht insignia, pink piping and silver braiding. Be
careful with the cap the pins holding the braiding stick
through and are quite sharp. They need rubbing down with
sandpaper or they will scratch the figures head.
The tunic is very nice with a dark green
collar made of a felt like material which really gives it a
quality feel. It also has subdued green buttons, 'French'
turn-back cuffs, and four pockets the lower ones are bellowed
and have material in them to bulk them out - as was the case
when in field use.
The white officer shirt has an enormous
collar but looks really good under the turned back tunic
collar.
The greatcoat looks to be the
standard greatcoat as previously used on other figures but
with a dark green collar - but, in my opinion, a miniature
work of art.
Any dislikes? Not really, a working claw
buckle would be nice but it won't put me off this figure. An
additional pair of bare hands would be nice as well.
Overall:
A really good looking figure that would enhance any
collection. Get one if you can.
