Review
"Not
another German!" I hear you cry! Oh yes, but wait there are some
great things here for WWII German fans.
All the
uniform and equipment items are made and finished to a high standard.
The figure features some new innovations for 1/6th scale including metal
helmet and fabric shoulder boards.
The M42
helmet is in cast painted metal giving terrific scope for weathering and
the addition of a leather chin strap with functional scale buckle makes
it a must have item - more please
Dragon.
The dot
camo tunic is as released previously in the uniform set but with the
refinement of functional fabric shoulder boards. These boards are
secured in place on the tunic with loops and minute nuts and
bolts! Great idea but fiddly, still they are worth it.
A leather
functional black map case is provided and looks terrific for a mass
produced item, a little gem. The bread bag is also a little gem
although, maybe, a touch on the large side.
The new
pattern boots have integral moulded gaiters and look much better than
the fabric ones, in my opinion the way to go for 1/6th scale.
Lothar
carries a MP44 assault rifle that features a working bolt together with
a leather sling that has a functional scale slider - much better than
the huge silver buckle any day. I hope
Dragon
feature this slider on all their future German guns.
Only a
small of gripe here, the ammo pouch has belt loops that are way too
small for the belt. So much so that I broke mine attempting to put it on
the belt. Come on
Dragon - quality control.
Overall: Another quality figure from
Dragon with what I hope will become standard
items for future German figures. Get at least one for your
collection.
