Review
This figure depicts one of the oldest Guards
regiments from the Household Division having been formed by James
the First in 1700 at Coldstream in Scotland. This regiment has its
place on the right of the line as determined by the red plume on the
right of the bearskin hat. The Regiment also has its tunic buttons
positioned in groups of two.
The figure has a classical head sculpt that has a
good fixed expression just right for this figure's role as a Guard.
The
uniform items are nicely made and finished although the seam down
the front of the arms on the tunic are a little strange although it
is obviously better for the people who have to put the tunic
together. The piping detail in this scale is very well done.
I think the rank marking is a little bit too
thick in this scale but not too bad all the same.
The bayonet sheath is made of cloth and looks a
little odd and was very difficult to put on to the belt.
Having seen the real item may times I think the
bearskin is a little on the small size in terms of height but is
nonetheless a much better offering than any before.
Overall: A
nice addition to the modern line and a worth commemorative figure
for the Queen's Golden Jubilee. |
