Zanis depicts a Latvian Freiwilligen (foreign volunteer) Waffen SS NCO
fighting in the Danzig area in early 1945. The head sculpt is nicely
painted and has a youthful but determined expression.
The outstanding piece of this figure has to be the
fully reversible camo parka and trousers. The parka and trousers are
well made and tailored, a very nice outfit in deed. It is difficult to
decide how to have the figure wearing the outfit as it is terrific
either way.
Zanis comes with a full set of accessories all made
and finished to the usual high standard. The MP40/II is unusual but a
nice addition to the weapon range. He is also wearing the tall
Officer/NCO jackboots which to my mind is a strange choice for a late
war figure, but easily remedied.
As you can see from the photo Dragon have been
exceedingly generous with the waist drawstring on the parka, however you
can always cut off what you don't need and use it to replace elastic
rifle slings or the like on other figures I suppose.
Overall:
Definitely worth getting if only for the reversible outfit. |
