A further departure by Dragon into other era figures
brings us a Napoleonic Foot Grenadier of the Guard. As usual all the
items are well made and finished. The figure comes partially dressed
with the owner having to put on coat, hat and accessories.
The head sculpt is finely done with the moulded hair
shaped into the style of the time.
The clothes are tailored tightly to the figure, as in
the style of the times, and add greatly to the overall pleasing look of
the figure.
The leggings are tight to the legs and are held with
minute velcro strips that are unobtrusive. The bearskin is well done
with a large amount of work having gone into the details. It doesn't
hold its shape well but is easy to rectify by padding with cotton wool
or tissue paper.
The red shoulder boards supplied have plastic lugs
but the figure's coat does not have holes for them; it is up to the
owner to apply them as they wish.
Overall: I like
this foray into the Napoleonic era and this figure is a good starting
point - now for some more!!
