'Johannes', German Feldgendarmerie Motorcyclist, Leningrad, 1941

Star Rating:

Johannes represents a Feldgendarmerie Feldwebel motorcyclist engaged as part of the assault on Leningrad in 1941. He is dressed in the standard German army uniform of tunic complete with national, rank, and arm of service markings, trousers, marching boots, steel helmet and black belt with army buckle. He is equipped with a motorcyclist's overcoat, gas mask can and cape, bread bag, water bottle, map case, black ammo pouch, goggles and Feldgendarmerie gorget. He is armed with an MP28 sub machine gun complete with two magazines.

Review

Another in the now long line of German army figures. There are a couple of 'new' items included with this figure. These are the motorcyclists overcoat ( which, I think, is a tribute to the skill of the pattern makers people actually making them! - we'll see a lot more of these I'm sure), the MP28 and the black ammo pouch which is made of a black leatherette material.

The head sculpt is entirely new and, because the hair moulding is not too excessive, enables the helmet to fit nicely.

The MP41 is nicely done and as is usual crisply moulded (no working parts on this one but that doesn't detract from the piece).

The uniform is well finished and the various markings are crisp and applied nicely. The goggles are painted to represent deer skin leather and have clear lenses.

Overall: A very good addition to your collection.
