Walter Guy Gilbey
Lived in Canterbury with Carol since 1994 after 24 years
overseas in mining and exploration. Three adult children.
Post graduate geologist, worked overseas, finally in
Belgium as CEO of an international company, mining in West
Africa.
Since retiring, worked as: Parish councillor; Action Group
Chairman opposing an A2 service station in the North Downs
AONB; Trust Chairman gaining Lottery grants and rebuilding
a Village Hall; Charity Trustee seeking Lottery funds for
a home for those both addicted and homeless; Leader,
gaining Sport Lottery and LTA finance for Bridge Tennis
Pavilion and supervising construction and; a BESO
executive helping Belarus to begin replacing nuclear
missile facilities by business zones.
Golf and tennis are sporting interests after retiring from
cricket and football. Swimming, scuba, skiing and walking
are also distractions when possible but interest in travel
has waned after excessive business travel. Bi-lingual.
Reading and music are appreciated at home
