Rosemary Doyle
I was first elected in 1999 to represent Chartham Ward, and am now one of the councillors for the new 2-member ward of Chartham and Stone Street. Having been brought up in Kent, I returned here in 1997 after 25 years abroad – 2 years working for the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna, followed by 23 years in Brussels during which time I did a lot of work in the community there.

I am a member of the Overview Committee, the Local Plan Steering Group, Political Management Member panel, and have worked on a number of Best Value Review Panels. I am currently completing a degree in Archaeological Studies at UKC and, when time permits, enjoy playing tennis and walking in the local countryside.

Mike Patterson
Born in Ashford and originally an Ashford Borough Councillor, I am now the owner of Ashfield Caravan and Camping Site at Petham. This is a departure from my earlier career as a Fire Officer and then Fire Safety advisor in the local health service. I am married with a grown up son and daughter and enjoy sailing, dog breeding and animal husbandry in my leisure time. My interest in politics stems from a desire to make sure public services offer value for money and in protecting and maintaining the environment by being certain that any development is sensitive and beneficial to the local community.
