This was the first walk of the holiday - a circular walk from Calvi. Leaving the town we picked up a well used track which led to a small church called the "Chapelle de Notre Dame de la Serra". This is an excellent viewpoint as it is situated about 700 ft above Calvi. From the church the descent was initially east, and then north across a road to pick up a track running the length of the Revellata peninsula to the lighthouse. From the lighthouse we descended to a small bay by the Oceanagraphic Research Centre where we had lunch. A pleasant coastal path took us to the Plage de l'Alga where we had a welcome beer at the beach bar, and a swim. From here the return to Calvi was on paths and road.
