Punta di Zarpi (1931m)

This was our first day of walking from Corte. The previous day had been spent transferring from Calvi in the morning, and finding our bearings in Corte in the afternoon. Dennis was delegated to help Tom explore restaurants, whilst Jackie curled up with a book.

The start of the walk was from Vizzavona, an hours train ride from Corte. From the station we followed the GR20 south to the Bocca Palmenta col. Some of the party stayed at the col whilst six of us climbed to the summit of Punta di Zorpi. After returning to the col we took some different paths down through the forest to reach the station, with just a couple of minutes to spare for the train back to Corte.
