Arch of Corte

A day off today, Tom was going for a haircut, and to pose as a Frenchman for the day! Jackie came up with the idea of walking to the Arch of Corte, which is a famous feature of the area, and can be seen on many of postcards for sale in the town. So eight of us started of from the hotel after breakfast. It is a tough walk, five of us made it all the way to the arch, in about 4 hours with over 3500 ft of ascent. It is a walk that is well worth doing, as there is no transport to worry about you can take as much time as you want. The Arch (Arca di Scandulaghja) lies in the mountains to the north west of Corte, it is well marked with painted arches on rocks and trees, and red and white tape on bushes and shrubs. Make sure you take enough water with you.
