Calacuccia and Tavignano Valley

The walk started with an hour's bus ride to Calacuccia. The bus dropped us off on a minor road running up from the dam at an altitude of 1170m. From the road we took the path taking us up to the col Bocca a l'Arinella 1592m. There were many excellent views from here. The path we followed was part of the Mare e Mare Nord long distance path all the way to Corte. From the col the path dropped down to Refuge Sega, and from the refuge we followed the path down the long but very impressive Tavignano valley back to Corte.
