Titlis

Dennis wasn't at all well but he didn't want to miss going to the top! Three lifts involved - with the last one rotating - very James Bondish! The cable car return fare was a good saving with the Swiss Card, it was half price costing 79CHF for both of us rather than 158CHF.

Titlis is the highest peak in the Engelberg area and the trip to the top is very popular. As well as the views there are various activities, shops, exhibitions and restaurants to keep people occupied. After a short stroll along one of the prepared tracks and taking in the views I was ready to return back to the hotel. Jackie stayed at the top a bit longer and then took the cable car to the middle station at Stand. From Stand (2428m) she took the path down the ridge to Truebsee, this was nice and quiet and some more good views. From Truebsee it was back down to the valley in the cable car.

Despite having promised Dennis not to go along the high level path it was too inviting to miss, especially as I had this part of the mountain all to myself. There would have been more pictures but the camera battery run out. Flickr
