Todays walk would be a short walk between St Wolfgang and Strobl, two resorts on the Wolfgangsee. We caught the bus to St Gilgen and then walked down to the lakeside to board one of the boats that cruise around the Wolfgangsee stopping off at towns and villages on the way. We had a pleasant sail on the boat enjoying the views We disembarked at St Wolfgang and had a stroll araound the town.

The walk starts alongside the lake at St wolfgang but unfortunately starts to come away from the lake and follows a main road. It is quite a busy road so it wasn't too pleasant although we did get a sighting of a grass snake in one of the rivers running underneath the road. After about a couple of kilometres a path turns off to the right and goes across fields to the lakeside. The path into Strobl is very pleasant as for part of the way it is a boardwalk built over the lake.

Strobl looked a nice resort a lot quieter than St Gilgen and St Wolfgang. One thing to note is that the main bus stop is quite a trek from the lakeside so allow 10 to 20 minutes to walk there. We took the bus back to Fuschl and had drinks at the Stefanihof - unfortunately no cakes !
