| Eckerwiesenkopf is on the west side of the Molltal valley, south of Heiligenblut. The walk started and finished at the village of Putschall, whch is on the Lienz bus route. From Putschall (1053m) we walked up the tarmac road to Egg, and continued towards to the Thaleralm. Just before reaching it we took a forest track to the left. This track climbs up through the forest and then steeply up some grass meadows before arriving at a grassy ridge. The ridge leads to the Eckerwiesenkopf, which was a little disappointing as it was not really a summit, but the end point of the ridge. However it was an excellent viewpoint and well worth the effort. This walk is best kept for a dry and clear day. After taking in the views we retraced our steps to Putschall. We had about half an hour to wait for the bus, so we had a welcome glass of beer at the Gradenwirt just opposite from the bus stop. | |
