| Todays walk took us up the Kleine Fleisstal, to a high lake called the Zirmsee. We starter with the postbus to Kehre 27 (1515m), and then path 10 up the Kleine Fleisstal to the Alter Pocher inn. From the Alter Pocher there are two possibilities, either continue up path 10, the dirt road (Werkweg). We stayed on the footpath (very pleasant) and enjoyed good views back down the valley. The path crosses the road at a number of points, before reaching the Zirmsee (2495m). It was cold so we found a sheltered stop on the lake shore for lunch, and then walked up to a memorial cross above the lake. Leaving the cross, we retraced our steps to the Alter Pocher. We had been looking forward to a quiet drink here, as the weather had improved, but the inn was packed with people listening to a band. The music was causing the cattle to gallop around, which was somewhat scarey. So we decided not to stop, and walked down past the Goldgruber camp, and back to Heiligenblut on path 9. | |
