| The Glacier Path is a circular walk from the Franz Josef Heights. It does not go across any glaciers, but through the moraine left by receding glaciers. For our last walk we decided to walk (limp) from Franz Josef to Heiligenblut. We spent some time looking around the exhibitions, as the coach parties had not arrived by then. We went into the Swaroski Tower and looked through the telescopes at the people climbing up to the summit of the Grossglockner. From Franz Josef the path descends down towards the glacier, again there are some very good views. The Glacier path then runs south past the Sandersee and Stausee Margaritze lakes - crossing the bridge. We did not complete the circuit of the Glacier path, but took path 5 down the valley to the Trogalm, and then our favoured route back to Heiligenblut via the Briccius chapel and path 1. | |
