| Break of journey - B8074 - from A85 to Bridge of Orchy on A82. This 10 mile single track road is a delight even in wet weather - the fishermen were out in force. In previous years we have parked the car at the bridge GR 245321 and taken the forest track. About 2 km along the track you come to a wonderful forest area - a delightful place on a warm day to take a book, and listen to the wind in the trees and birds singing. The 2 km is through conifers, but the woodland area is an open mix of Scots pine and deciduous trees. I looked for links but I suspect its a well kept secret that not many find, as they are either driving the road, or stiking out for the tops. | |
| Rannoch Moor - again it looks good in the wet. The first time I saw this area was years ago when we first travelled to Skye - I fell in love with in then, and still love it. However I'm not sure that I would want to navigate across it on foot. | |
| If you are going to spend nearly an hour in a traffic jam (due to bridge replacement), then without hestination we can say that Glencoe beats the M62 anyday! | |
