Rasciesa is a large grassy plateau above Ortisei, on the north side of the Gardena valley.

We too the bus down the valley to Ortisei, and then walked through Ortisei up to the Resciesa chair lift. Despite having maps we had to stop and ask. Prehaps the easiest way would have been to follow the signs to the Secada station, using the moving walkways and esculators, and then from the Secada station to follow the signs to the Resciesa chair lift station.

Having taken the chair lift to the Bergrestaurant Raschötz (good place to pause and have a morning tea) our walk then took us past the abandoned Rifugio Rasciesa and on to the Sante Croce Chapel (photo stop). From here it was a short ascent to Mont Dedora (2281m) and then on to the pararoma path eastwards (paths 31 then 35) across the Rasciesa plateau to Brogles Hut (beer stop). Having refreshed ourselves we then ambled down path 5 through forest to Furnes, where we took the cable car to Ortisei, and then the bus back to Selva.
