Soulan,Cap de Pede and Vielle-Aure

You are at: Home > StLary walks > Soulan

Our first walk was a circular walk from the hotel, and was a good introduction to the area close to St Lary. From the hotel we walked along the road to the small village of Vignec and from Vignec we walked up through the forests via the Gr de Lias, to the hamlet of Soulan. From Soulan we took the path up to the ridge and Cap de Pede (1634m). It was a hot day and some of the party found this tough going. After lunch on the ridge, we descended on the GR10 path down through forest to the pleasant village of Vielle-Aure. Fortunately there was a bar open, so we stopped for a drink. After suitable refreshment we ambled merrily alongside the river back to the hotel.
