| For our day off Maggie & Ian had arranged a coach trip to the Ordesa Gorge and the town of Ainsa.
The Ordesa Gorge is very dramatic with high mountain walls surrounding the valley. The coach took us to
the town of Torla.
At Torla we left our coach to catch a shuttle bus which took us into the Ordesa National Park and Pradera de Ordesa. From Pradera (toilets, shop and cafe) we had a pleasant two hours walking to the Waterfalls on the Cateracts trail. On the return journey home we stopped at the town of Ainsa which has an interesting old town at the top of the hill. Whilst in Ainsa we experienced a very dramatic thunderstorm with torrential rain for about half an hour. Fortunately we managed to get into a local museum to shelter from the storm. We enjoyed the trip, and would recommend it if it is offered. |
