| The previous day's walk in the Louron valley had been a long walk, so a number of people
opted for the easier walks for the rest of the week. Today we returned to the Neouvielle
area and once again we had excellent weather. Again the start point was the Lac d'Aubert (2148m)
From the lake we took the path up to the Hourquette d'Aubert (2498m). There was a good
view of the Aubert and Aumar lakes.
From the col we walked down to Lac Nere and Lac Blanc.We left the main path to pick up a cairned footpath past Lac de Tracens and up the Madamete valley to gain a ridge leading up to the Pic de Madamete (2652m). We spent some time taking in the views from the summit.From the summit we descended to the Col de Mademete and took the GR10 path down to Lac d'Aubert. |
