From Artigusse (1593m) we walked up the track to the Lac de L'Oule. We then walked past the Refuge de l'Oule along the path on the Eastern shore of the Lac de l'Oule before ascending past the Cabane de Bastan, and onto the Bastan lakes.
And then on to the Refuge de Bastan. We had a short stop outside the hut before continuing on to the Col de Bastanet (2607m). Some of the party stayed at the col and a few of us went up the ridge to the summit of the Pic de Bastan(2715m).
On returning to the col the party were still there so we all left together on a path (not shown on the map) which contoured around to the Hourquette de Caderolles. From the col we descended on a path past the Laquets de Port Bielh. This took us down to the valley of Port Bielh through forestry to Lac de L'Oule. We took the path on the west side of the lake to the southern end before picking up the track to Artigusse.
