Projects and The FutureThere are bound to be many changes to the NHS over the next few years but the commitment of the practice to provide good quality general practice will continue. In 2002 we shall be expanding the practice to provide extra consulting rooms and clinical space on 2 floors. Investment in Information Technology will continue following a complete recomputerisation in 2001 and we hope to be able to extract clinical and administrative benefits from this. We will explore the use of website technology to see if this is useful within the locality. The emphasis on teaching within the practice will continue. Postgraduate teaching has recently moved from the University of Leicester to the University of Nottingham. We participated in the Royal College of General Practitioners 'Quality Team Development' process for the accreditation of practices in 2001 and this process will be repeated within the next few years. In the early summer of 2002 we appointed Dr Richard Gent as an additional sixth partner due to the continuing growth of the practice. Dr Gent is entering civilian general practice having been a GP in the Royal Navy and has most recently been working in Gibraltar. He will be starting work at the Surgery in September/October 2002. |
