Lc 12 41 *
Mc 13 37 *
And Peter said to him: Lord, dost thou speak this parable to us, or likewise to all?
What indeed
[1] I say to you, I say to all: Watch.

Vere[2] dico vobis, quoniam super omnia bona sua constituet eum.  Blessed is that servant, whom when his lord shall come he shall find so doing. Verily I say to you: he shall place him over all his goods.

Mt 24 51b *
But if that evil servant shall say in his heart: My lord is long a coming, and shall begin to strike his fellow servants and shall eat and drink with drunkards, the lord of that servant shall come in a day that he hopeth not and at an hour that he knoweth not, and shall separate him and appoint his portion with the hypocrites and[3] unbelievers. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

[1] Douay translates ‘Quod autem’ as  ‘and what’ which makes this seem a run-on, whereas ‘What indeed’ better translates the Latin.

[2] ‘Vere’ is not in the Vulgate verse, however, ‘Amen’ is, and the meaning is alike. This is another witness to the Vetus Latina.
