| Gouge and
Crush Damage to The Wheel |
This picture shows the gouge
marks made as the trapped wheel acted like a sled. You will see that
most of the gouging runs top to bottom in this picture, but you will
also see that the centre spoke has gouging running left to right,
this was caused as the car rebounded from the electricity pole,
causing a change of direction. The fracture of the rim on this side
happened at or slightly before impact with the pole, this is
confirmed by the presence of gouging in one direction only.
