Below we list those we know about:
1) Central London - Iraq
This conference notes that the main justification for the war against Iraq was their possession of weapons of mass destruction (WMD). We note that neither the United Nations weapons inspectors nor the United States have been able to find any significant traces of these weapons. We further note the Washington Post headline on may 28, 2003: "Frustrated US arms team to leave Iraq"
Conference notes that the longer the US/UK occupation continues the worse the situation becomes for Iraqi civilians and the greater the likelihood of "terrorist" attacks on the UK..
In the light of the new evidence, conference agrees that the war against Iraq was not "justified" and hereby agrees to affiliate to the Stop the War Coalition and to encourage all Amicus (MSF) regions and branches to do likewise.
Conference instructs MSF delegations to the Labour Party and TUC conferences as well as MSF delegates to Labour Party NEC and TUC General Council to vote in support of this resolution at the forthcoming Labour Party and TUC conferences and at the forthcoming meetings of the Labour Party NEC and TUC General Council.
2) Hounslow and Feltham - Iraq
This conference expresses concern at the threatening noises being made against Iran, Syria and North Korea by the U.S.A.
This conferences believes that the policies of the 'Stop the War' Coalition are consistent with MSF Conference policy. This Conference draws the attention of the NEC to the provisions of Rule 41, which allow regions and branches to affiliate to National organisations "provided the policies of that body are consistent with MSF conference policy"
As the supreme governing body of the union, this conference therefore rebukes the N.E.C for its decision to prohibit affiliation to the 'Stop the War' coalition and informs branches and regional councils that they may now so affiliate"
