PROTEST
AGAINST ISRAELI MASSACRES OF PALESTINIANS

The Israeli campaign of slaughter, terrorism, and devastation against the Palestinian people - a captive civilian population terrorised, shelled and assaulted by the world's third strongest army. The use of the USA-made F-16 bombers, tanks, gunships, and others has spread death, terror, and devastation in the defenceless Palestinian cities and towns.
The massacre continues...and the world continues to watch!

Armchair Activist Alert
Since Friday 18th May there has been a serious escalation of events in Palestine Israel. Following a suicide attack in Netanyahu Israel has used F-16 fighter jets to attack launch massive attacks against Palestinians towns in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, killing at least twelve and injuring more than one hundred.
Israel continues to attack Palestinians in the occupied territories using helicopter gunships, and more people were killed on Saturday and Sunday by live fire from occupation forces. At least six Israelis have been killed in the most recent violence. These attacks using F 16 fighter jets against targets in the Occupied Palestinian Territory was the first of its kind since the 1967 Six Day War.
These attacks were both excessive and unjustified. Retaliatory attacks are a clear violation of international humanitarian law. United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan spoke out against the attacks stating that, 'I can only regard this response as excessive and misdirected. Its effect will inevitably be to increase bitterness even further on the Palestinian side.
Article 33 of the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949 states that, "Reprisals against protected persons and their property are prohibited." Attacks and the destruction of Palestinian civilian property in retaliation for attacks and actions carried out by another groups with no direct connection to the those attacked constitutes a violation of this article.
Please act now:
Write to the Prime Minister and Foreign Secretary to:
· Demand that the Israeli Government respects human rights and international law
· Invoke the Euro-Israel Association Agreement and impose trade restrictions on Israel until Israel fulfils its responsibilities towards Palestinian human rights.
Under Article 2 of the (which calls for the respect of human rights), The European Union has the right to invoke sanctions to protect Palestinians from abuse.
I
ask you to that agreement
· Urgently call for international intervention to protect the Palestinian population from further serious abuses at the hands of the Israeli occupation.
