INSURANCE - make sure you're covered
by Hilary Hill, Membership Secretary
With the hope that the outdoor season will eventually be allowed to start, can I please make a plea to all members to check their insurance which must give third party indemnity at any Oaks event you enter. Several members are confused about their insurance cover, especially regarding Driving Club One Day Events.
An example is Carriagehouse Insurance Services cover:-
Class of use
Group A - Private, Pleasure Exercising (incuding ridden), Showing, BDS drives, Rallies, Dressage, Cone Driving, Ridden Showing and Dressage (up to & including Medium Level), breaking, Pony Club/Riding Club Events and Unaffiliated Show Jumping.
However, you will need Group C for Club One Day Events.
Group C - As Group A plus Horse Driving Trials, and/or training for, at Club level or above, Endurance Driving, Scurry, Ridden Hunter Trials, Affiliated Show jumping, Novice Eventing and above, Hunting.
If you are not sure about your own insurance, contact your insurance company and I am sure they will be only too pleased to help.
