What Class Should I Enter?

Pre-Novice: -
If you have not completed a Club Two Day Event, been placed in the top three in the Novice section at a Club One Day Event or won two or more Pre-Novice Club Events then you are eligible to compete at Pre-Novice level.

Novice: -
If you are out of Pre-Novice but have not competed in a National Horse Driving Trials then you are eligible to compete at Novice level. You may win 2 Novice CLUB One Day or Two Day Events before you become an Open driver. However, just to confuse you Indoor Driving Trials are different and do not count.

Open: -
If you have competed at any National Horse Driving Trials or have won two or more Novice Club One or Two Day Events then you should enter the Open Class. You do not have to start at Pre-Novice and work up, perhaps you are already an experienced driver in another sphere. Please ask the relevant Competition Secretary if you are not sure.

H/C - Hors Concours: -
Do remember that classes are split according to the Driver's experience, not the horse or combination. If you have moved up a grade but feel you want to compete at a lower level to bring on a young horse, most Clubs will allow this but you will be classified as H/C and will not be eligible for any prizes!
