BEATNIC PRESTIGE - Doubtfire CD Single

Without any beating about the bush, the title track of this single, kicks off with both foot firmly down on the accelerator as a slice of their trademark driving indie-rock bursts into life amid a flurry of ringing guitar chords, crashing drums and purposeful pounding bass. Above this, the vocal is delivered with urgency but also emotion, the singer successfully conveying the song with a mix of tension, drive and strength. As the track races ahead, it's a slice of modern day boogie-rock that really comes to life, is totally appealing on a commercial level, and has the requisite amounts of guitar headwind to make it rock. The 2nd track, “Any Other Boy”, also races along in sprightly fashion and carries on from the fast-paced passion of the previous track, only this time with a stop-start sense of tension and a flair for driving anthemic dynamics as the guitars ring out, the choruses firmly attach themselves to your brain and the whole thing proving irresistible to movement, as the song hurtles apace to great effect, all a bit like Sergeant on steroids and every bit as good.
