Debut solo CD from the guitarist of Dundee funk-rock band Coma Toast, and it's an instrumental offering of solo electric guitar music that's simply a delight from start to finish. With a technique that's full of feeling and warmth, he plays two originals and one standard that just make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, perfect for both a warm summer's evening or a winter's night by the fireside. The title track is a delight, with a melodic core but which twists and turns with some exquisite picking and playing, jazzy but never losing sight of its feelings, melodic yet never bland. Track 2 is the standard “Georgia On My Mind” but here he jazzes it up in a laid-back sea of melody and atmosphere, keeping the song's core shape and melodic heart but turning something rather MOR into something altogether sharper but emotionally sound and satisfying as that picked and strummed guitar sound keeps you captivated. Finally, there's “True”, another slowly melodic ballad typ of track but with those ringing notes from the delicious jazz guitar pouring slowly out of the speakers to great delight, with no so much a bite as more of a passionate kiss. It's easy on the ear yet it's not “easy listening”, it's jazz yet it's accessible, it's one guitar but it's from the heart – and, above all, it's so enjoyable – and you can't argue with that!!
