FOREVERVOID - Vision (Demo) CD-EP

This is a heavy metal band in the grand traditions of the phrase - old school and then some. They balance delicacy with crushing ferocity on a really grand level and produce three excellent songs in the bargain. The lead track opens with delicacy as guitars chime, before the band erupt and a supercharged barrage of surging heavy metal roars into life as the verses are delivered by a singer who at firswt reveals yearning, before that turns into anger and then storms into full-blown thunder on the unforgettable chorsu that will be sticking in your head long after it's gone. In the traditions of other up and coming Scottish Classic Rock styled bands such as Attica Rage and 15 Times Dead, this lot have definitely got what it takes to get noticed. The 2nd track, "Let The Gods Decide" opens up as a ballad with delicate chords and impassioned, yearning vocals that soar into the harmony-laden chorus as staccato metal guitar rifs double as rock rifle-fire, the rhythm section in chopy waters underneath before cymblas crash into the chorus. From a drumming point of view, clearly of demo quality, but everything else sounds just fine, and the balance between the power and passion makes it a seriously strong track without being in any way commercial, yet with an arrangement that keeps you hooked, anthemic rock, for sure. The final track bursts into life with rapid-fire riffs and rhythms as the vocalist sings along before roaring into a throaty holler amid surging layers of guitar riffs and leads as the rifle-fire approach returns and the song twists between the sung and hollered vocals, again, commanding your attention as a solid slice of metal is unleashed. Seen live in concert, these tracks are many times better and you really have to experience this band live, but you also should grab a copy of the CD if they offer any at gigs, because its relatively lengthy tracks are repeat playable and well enjoyable, that's for certain.
