Parish Hall Opening 1929

The group standing near the door of the hall are obviously the "dignitaries" comprising among others Rector Nash, Brig. Gen. Kelly (the tall man) and his wife and with them Daniel Wrayford and other prominent parishioners, probably benefactors - the Village Hall fund mostly came from donations.  When the old hall was constructed, such buildings typically had a life expectancy of 30 years.  Successive fundraising drives and refurbishments have permitted this to be more than doubled.  Click on the picture to return.
