Well here I
am, I've finally succumbed to a weblog. I am an engineer with a national repair company, I spend my time travelling the lanes of Yorkshire occasionally stopping to fix a customer's problem. I have *years* of experience, being around from the days of mini computers, I cut my teeth on Data General. Oh the days spent in classrooms in Harrow, learning about micro-code, keying in bootstrap loaders on the front panel, they were the days, real computers real engineers. I'll be back to the old days no doubt in a later posting. Anyway back to now, as I said, travelling around Yorkshire, fixing *broken* tills. I've a few tales to tell and this is my platform to do it. This is a 'Work in Progress' so expect a few dead ends. |
I don't think I'll limit my
musing to comments and observations of customers, colleagues and faults
found and fixed, I'll aso take the opportunity to rage over drivers. As I travel in excess of fifty thousand miles a year I have seen quite a few strange things happen on and off the road. I realise I'm not perfect, but if I do anything daft I always look behind to see what if any carnage I've caused. I'll also post a few photo's I've snapped over the years, do you realise, I didn't, I've been on the road for nigh on thirty years, over twenty as an engineer, at 50,000 a year for 20 years that's a MILLION miles. OK, I've had a couple of accidents, well let's list them .. (My Accidents), but given it would take the average driver around a 100 years to do a million, I'm probably quite good. |
