My FOGDENs

The Donnington connection (post 1750s)

Robert FOGDEN (1712-1766), a carpenter, married Mary COMBS on 1st June 1751 at Boxgrove (this appears to have been a double marriage with that of his brother Richard).  This is their family:

Hannah FOGDEN
(1752-?)
Hannah was baptised on 24th Jul 1752 at Donnington.  She married Joseph MINEER on 29th May 1777 at Donnington.
Mary FOGDEN
(1754-?)
Mary was baptised on 7th Mar 1754 at Donnington.  She married John HAMMOND, a husbandman, on 19th July 1774 at Donnington.
Daniel FOGDEN
(1755-1824)
Daniel was baptised on 7th November 1755 at Donnington.  He married Martha HAMMOND (the sister of John HAMMOND who married his sister Mary) on 19th July 1774 at Donnington - so they had a double marriage of brother & sister marrying sister & brother!  Also Daniel was only 18 and Martha 19 so they both needed the consent of their parents.  They had 10 children.  Daniel was buried at Donnington in 1824, 21 years after that of his wife.
Ellick FOGDEN
(1756-1790)
Ellick was baptised on 12th November 1756 at Donnington.  He married Sarah TUCKER on 25th July 1779 at Donnington.  He was a farmer.  They had 5 children before Ellick died in 1790.  Sarah did not die until 1820.  They were both buried at Donnington.
Sarah FOGDEN
(1759-?)
Sarah was baptised on 26th Jun 1759 at Donnington.  She married John OVERINGTON, a yeoman (farmer?) on 5th October 1779 at Chichester.

Robert was buried at Donnington in 1766. I do not know what happened to his wife.
