The Brighton connection (post 1830s)
William Richard LINTOTT was born at Brighton on
28th July 1885. He married Lily Ethel WHITE at Brighton
on 27th July 1912 at the Register Office (presumably because Lily was 7 months
pregnant). She was 5 years younger than William, the first of at least
4 children born to Frank WHITE, a building labourer, &
Mary Ann DIVALL.
William was a building labourer. At the time of the 1st World War he joined
the 2nd Batallion of the Royal Sussex Regiment. He was sent to France
and was killed in action on 29th August 1915. He is buried at the Vermelles
British Cemetary in the Pas de Calais in France.
The widowed Lily married Henry TAYLOR, a carter, at Brighton
on 8th June 1918.
