Camera Advances Boost IR Sale

Recent camera advances, brought along by a new generation of CCD sensors that achieve high IR sensitivity by optimisation of on-chip Microlens are helping boost Derwent’s  ‘Uniflood and Miniflood’ Infra-Red sales.

Derwent, technical leaders in infra-red illumination, explain that the new Exview ½” sensors that are becoming incorporated by many leading camera manufactures provide increased sensitivity in low light conditions. ‘This technology provides significant improvement in low light conditions, giving increased opportunity when using Infra-Red’ say Derwent, ‘the key to good night-time pictures is providing even illumination’.

Derwent analyse and test many monochrome cameras in actual night-time conditions– “We do this so that we can explain to installers, consultants and specifies what kind of results they can expect to achieve when using Infra-red illumination” explains Derwents Marketing Director

As a general rule these cameras can see further with the equivalent amount of Infra-Red than their predecessors, additionally semi-covert and covert operations become more feasible, including the use of LED illuminations. Derwent have launched a new increased power Uniflood LED to take full advantage of the emerging technology.

Recent government figures indicate crime is on the increase. It is a fact that large percentages of these crimes take place during the night, as such the industry needs to focus on achieving effective 24 hour CCTV.  This means achieving equally as effective footage during the night as during the day, IR is the recognised choice of many leading schemes.

The Uniflood range is Derwent`s leading established Infra-Red illumination systems designed to give enhanced performance, bulb life and even illumination. Derwent have published a ‘Matrix’ indicating how far you can expect to see with specific monochrome cameras and their range of products.
