Derwent Take A Drop Of Gin

Derwent Systems Ltd has appointed Jack Gin as a Director of the group company Derwent Extreme. Jack CEO of American Operations based in Vancouver, Canada, brings together, Extreme CCTV’s expertise in developing special application CCTV enclosures and Derwent’s established leading position in night-time infrared illumination.

"We are delighted with the partnership which will enable us to build on Derwents excellent relationship and distribution network in Europe. Our mission is to bring Derwents infra-red technology and experience to North America.’

The new company will retain the name Extreme CCTV for North American markets. The Global product lines will include CCTV surveillance equipment for night-time, hazardous, ballistic, acidic, caustic and extreme weather environments.

Trevor Duffy, Director of Derwent Systems Ltd., sought an alliance partner in North America who would capture the USA market for its line of Uniflood and Miniflood IR illuminators. "The availability of Jack Gin, the founder of Extreme CCTV and previously VP of Marketing at Silent Witness was a pleasant surprise for us", explained Trevor Duffy.

The new Derwent and Extreme alliance now means that Derwent constantly have an engineer and sales support team available for 24hrs a day on five different continents.

‘The driving vision of the company is to provide the industry globally with 24 hour CCTV products, focusing on achieving effective night-time and daytime performance’ says Trevor Duffy. ‘As an industry we must remember that we are faced with two different environments, namely Day and Night and we need different tools to cope with the dynamics.’

Derwent have launched a new free information and product guide to help the installer achieve effective night-time CCTV pictures. The guide includes technical details on Derwents infrared range, which provides the solution for external and internal, short range and long range schemes. Additionally the booklet provides an Infrared glossary, Question and Section plus a camera and IR lamp matrix detailing how far you can expect your camera to see.
