B.B.C. TV Centre & Montague on the Gardens

As a result of requests from our members in our annual questionnaire, Teston Tours has arranged a coach outing featuring two of London’s very different places to visit, namely – a tour of the B.B.C. Television Centre at Shepherds Bush – followed by afternoon tea at the 4 Star - Montague on the Gardens Hotel, Montague Street, Bloomsbury. Why not spoil yourselves and enjoy with us what is going to be a truly unique and quintessentially English occasion at two of London’s most prestigious addresses.                                                       

 

The B.B.C. Television Centre On the award-winning tour of BBC Television Centre you will see what happens inside the most famous Television Headquarters in the world! You are likely to see into studios, visit BBC News, take a peek into a dressing-room and have a the opportunity to visit the interactive studio! A team of well-informed guides will show you around the centre, making sure you see the most entertaining areas available. Your tour will last between one and a half and two hours, no two tours are the same.  All BBC Tours take place in a working building, so no guarantees can be made about who or what you will see on the day of our visit.  

The Montague on the Gardens Hotel, Bloomsbury, The 4-star Montague on the Gardens hotel seems to inhabit two worlds. In front, is the British Museum and the hurly-burly of tourist London. To the rear, there's a serene private garden, cut off from the city by a rectangle of fine Georgian townhouses. Between the two lies The Montague – an intriguing blend of up-to-the-minute city vibrancy and old-world Bloomsbury calm. The classic afternoon tea is a GREAT BRITISH TRADITION, consisting of a selection of finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones with Devonshire clotted cream, preserves and tea pastries. A range of traditional, flavoured, aromatic, fruit and green teas are available, together with fine coffees.

The maximum number of people per tour of the Television Centre is 22, so l have reserved us places on 3 tours starting at 1.15 – 1.30 and 1.45 pm. Television Centre is a working building, you will be required to undergo a security check before the tour commences, plus there is very limited seating available during the tour which last between 1 ½ - 2 hours, there are no refreshment stops other than a trolley in Reception before the Tour begins. Due to copyright and security reasons, photography at Television Centre is restricted, however there are several photo opportunities which your Guide will point out during your tour.

If you would like champagne with your afternoon tea, this is available at £7.00p per glass.
