Olympic 2012 Site Tour
& Tea Cruise

As interest and publicity in the Olympic Games 2012, that are coming to East London,
gains momentum, Teston Tours has arranged a very varied and interesting Guided coach
tour of some of the new stadiums being built and of the venues being used, including
the ExCel Exhibition Centre in London’s Royal Docks which is hosting the Boxing,
Judo, Weightlifting, Wrestling, Table Tennis, and Taekwondo. Our tour will include
driving through the Lower Lee Valley to a viewing point for the Olympic Park from
where we get a really good view of the 80,000 seat Stadium. Is it ‘magnificent’ or
‘a bowl of blancmange?’ You decide. You’ll also see progress on the Velodrome, Aquatic
Centre and Olympic Village. This huge project is totally transforming the Lower Lee
Valley in East London. Plus we will continue our tour through the East End, Hackney
Marshes and Woodford, the constituency of Sir Winston Churchill, and a slice of Epping
Forest to the attractive market town of Waltham Abbey for lunch, where legend tells
us King Harold was buried after his defeat at the Battle of Hastings. After lunch
we will continue our tour past the site of the Canoe and Kayak events before we reach
Broxbourne where we will board our canal boat for a relaxing 90 minute cruise through
quiet countryside through part of the Lee Valley Park which has more area covered
by water than the Norfolk Broads. A cream tea will be served during our cruise before
we return to the wharf to re-
