4 star Rhine River Cruise, Germany

As a result of requests by our members in our annual questionnaire, Teston Tours has arranged its inaugural cruising holiday with a 6-day 5-night river cruise on The Rhine, Germany. We will be cruising on one of CroisiEurope’s fine 4 star luxury cruise liners, which is one of the finest cruising companies on The Rhine, with coach transfers both ways plus channel crossing by EuroTunnel shuttle trains. We will embark and disembark our cruiser liner in Strasbourg. Highlights of our cruise will be The Rock of the Lorelei, where the legendary siren lured sailors to their doom, visits to Koblenz, Rudesheim and Speyer plus other wonderful sights and sounds as we cruise pass Spire, Ludwigshafen, Mannheim, Wiesbaden, Boppard, Mainz, Bacharach and the innumerable picturesque castles and chateaux’s that line The Rhine.  CRUISING ITINERARY:-

 

Friday 6th May 2011 : TESTON - STRASBOURG

We will board our Scotland & Bates coach in Teston or Wateringbury, following which we will travel to the Cheriton Channel Tunnel Terminal, before we board the EuroTunnel shuttle train for France, on arrival on the Continent we will make our way with comfort and lunch stops to Strasbourg where we will arrive late afternoon. We will then board the CroisiEurope’s MS Stain Oldie Cruise Liner. After settling into our cabin, there will be a presentation of the crew. Following this there will be a welcome cocktail plus dinner on board, the rest of the evening is free time to enjoy and explore our cruise liner.

 

Saturday 7th May 2011 : STRASBOURG – RUDESHEIM

Our boat will leave Strasbourg early morning to sail to the charming village of Rudesheim. Breakfast will be served on board. We will cruise past numerous towns such as Spire and its cathedral, the impressive port installations in Ludwigshafen and Mannheim. Worms (ancient bishopric), Mainz (capital of Rhineland-Palatinate). Lunch will be served on board. We will arrive in Rudesheim around 4pm. Disembarkation and free time. Dinner will be served on board. Free evening in Rudesheim to visit the Drosselgasse, the little street famous worldwide café’s and bars plus a joyful atmosphere and Rhineland bands.

 

Sunday 8th May 2011 : RUDESHEIM – KOBLENZ

Breakfast will be served on board. Our boat will depart at 9am for Koblenz on one of the most beautiful sections of the Romantic Rhine. During this part of our cruise, will sail past Bacharach  (a very old wine-making village), Kaub, Oberwesel, and the innumerable picturesque castles which line The Rhine, the rock of the Lorelei, as well as Boppard, a typical village with white houses and grey slate roofs. Lunch will be served on board. We will arrive in Koblenz around 1pm. We will be able to explore Koblenz in the company of our hostess, before dinner is served on board and free evening to further explore and enjoy Koblenz.

 

Monday 9th May 2011 : KOBLENZ – RUDESHEIM

Breakfast will be served on board while we cruise up the most beautiful section of the Romantic Rhine between Koblenz and Rudesheim. Lunch will be served on board. We will arrive in Rudesheim around 5pm. Dinner will be served on board. Free time during the evening if you wish to further explore Rudesheim and the famous Drosselgasse returning to our boat at your leisure.

 

Tuesday 10th May 2011 : RUDESHEIM – SPEYER

Our boat will depart early in the morning to cruise up The Rhine to Speyer. Breakfast and lunch will be served on board. We will pass the towns of Wiesbaden, Nierstein, Worms and Mannheim. We will arrive around 6pm. Gala dinner evening on board. We will depart late evening as we cruise towards Strasbourg with overnight sailing.

 

Wednesday 11th May 2011 : SPEYER - STRASBOURG - TESTON

Breakfast will be on board. We will arrive in Strasbourg around 9am. Where we will disembark our cruiser liner and board our Scotland & Bates coach for our homeward journey to Wateringbury and Teston, we will travel with comfort and lunch stops to the Coquelles Channel Tunnel Terminal, before we board the EuroTunnel shuttle train for Cheriton, on arrival in Kent we will make our way to Wateringbury and Teston where we will arrive about 9pm.

There are NO tea / coffee facilities in your cabin.
