RUBBISH ROVERS BEATEN AGAIN!

Rovers were comprehensively beaten by Cambridge United this afternoon by two goals to nil.

Rovers went into the game with an indifferent run of results in past games. Graydon asked for more consistency before the kick off, but by 4:45 he didn't get what he asked for, as a poor Rovers side went down to a make-shift Cambridge United outfit.

Cambridge fielded 39 year old ex Rovers striker John Taylor upfront due to top scorer Dave Kitson serving the last of a 3 match ban for a sending off against Doncaster three weeks ago.

The first half was a drab affair with neither side taking the impitus. However 18 year old sensation Lewis Haldane was always a handful for the rearguard of the Cambridgeshire outfit, and was constantly getting in behind their back-line.

Dave Savage had the games first real effort when he had a shot charged down in the box, when the shot was definetly goal bound. At the other end, John Taylor missed a glorious oppurtunity for his side to take the lead when he found himself unmarked in the box, but his header was straight at keeper Kevin Miller.
