Holiday in Saalbach

Over Christmas this year, we decided to go skiing in Europe. We chose to go to Saalbach in Austria because it seemed as if it would have snow and it would be very Christmas-y. It turns out we were right on both counts!!! We had a really wonderful holiday.

Here's Sooz and Grant in front of one of the many decorations on the Main Street. Looking at the village; we stayed at the Hotel Bauer on the right.
Two spectacular beauties, the Alps and Sooz! Don liked to stay on the easier routes down the mountain. He thought they were prettier.
We had a couple of days of sunshine which made everything look just like a postcard (or a Christmas Card!) Grant enjoyed himself quite a lot, he became an accomplished snowboarder!
Here's our hotel at night. Here's Sooz and Grant on their way back downhill to Saalbach.
Don with another view of Saalbach behind. We ate very well too! Note Don's Tyrolean shirt and Sooz's Austrian scarf.
Don and Grant stopping for lunch up on the mountain. On our last evening, we took a horse-drawn sleigh.

Here's a panorama shot from atop of the highest peak in Saalbach .. and then we skiied to the bottom!
