Holiday in Skopelos

We've just returned from a lovely week on the Greek island of Skopelos, and as usual, a number of photos are now available for your viewing pleasure. Click on the small image of your choice to get a full-size photo; click on it again to return to this page.

Grant chilling out at lunch. Note his new ankle tattoo.

We visited the Monastery of Ag. Ioannis. It was beautiful and about 4000 steps up the rock.

Grant standing atop the rock, mere inches from plummeting to the rocky sea far below.

Grant made friends with a charming local dog, named 'Daffy'.

Here's the happy family, relieved after a successful descent.

Sooz and Grant at the beach at Limnonari.

Here is our villa, 'Galazio', a lovely converted barn at the end of a long, steep, rocky, winding dirt road.

Don the pack horse.

Grant admiring the vernacular architecture.

A loving mommy and her adoring little boy.

A jolly dad and his happy son.

A closeup so you can see my almost-bushy beard.

Here's a lovely pair of masts. And the sailboats are nice too.

Don and Grant floating their cares away.

A beach taverna lunch every day.

Sooz in a bikini, bringing me a beer. It doesn't get much better than this!

Grant and Sooz atop the rock overlooking Stafilos beach.

The charming vista of Skopelos Town, metropolis of Skopelos.

We went on a yacht for a day trip (how posh is that!!) Don proudly wore his Man City colors (and he wasn't the only guy on the island in a City shirt!!)

Skipper Grant, on the lookout for dolphins. And pirates.

Gilligan and Maryann at the wheel. "If not for the courage of the fearless crew..."

The locusts were out in the millions, making a lovely chirping noise to lull us to sleep. And to remind us to close our screens.

Grant is on the hydrofoil dock at Skiathos, the island on which we landed, about 20 minutes from Skopelos. Quite touristy.

Outside the taverna Agnondas in the town of Glossa, near our villa. Great food and a lovely view.

Don kept up his exercise routine by throwing Grant a dozen times daily. Usually in the water.

Here's Don next to one of his favorite things...

...and Sooz with one of hers!

When in Rome....

Being a pale northerner, Don stayed in the shade quite a lot.

Not our Sooz, though! Beach Bikini Bingo!!!
